Our weekend in Bintan

We had a great time this past weekend in Bintan, Indonesia. The water was clear and blue and the perfect temperature. We decided to take a less conventional approach and check out a little local resort instead of the regular tourist spots.

 It was a bit like camping Indonesian style. We stayed in this little wooden house over the water.

 It reminded us of Ecuador with the little wooden houses and warm temperatures.

The wooden houses are built over the water which helped to cool them. At night the tide would go out leaving the beach open in the early morning. 

We loved the almost empty beach filled with these giant rocks and palm trees.

 To go to breakfast in the morning we road about a mile in this motorcycle with side car. We had a great time. A big thank you to Angie Zufelt for your help with our kids.  We had an amazing experience!
